My first Build Guild

Made it out to my first Build Guild event tonight. It's a very casual geek night that is filling in the cracks: No Bay Area, Seattle, or NYC chapters yet. Instead you've got Salem, Pittsburgh, Philly, Albany, and apparently new chapters in the works in Billings, Tampa, and Houston.

Dave and Bridget are the welcoming hosts of the Pittsburgh edition. They work at CMU along with a few other attendees. The evening was very human but also resulted in some connections of business value. Probably the highest name-check rating goes to Eric Richie, project manager for the Adium chat client. Who knew?

Having been reminded that humans make this whole geek thing more fun (slash profitable), there are a few other events I intend to check out. I'll keep you posted.
