For purposes of their PageRank and my future reference, I record here that www.slipstick.com has
good info on Outlook troubleshooting. They showed me where the
name resolution cache is documented. I am migrating away from Exchange, and have been trying to get X.400 addresses to stop popping up in the "To" field of new messages.
On a related note, the Outlook address book architecture is a
dismal wreck. They have an entire tutorial for "advanced users" to explain the
differences and incompatibilities between the following:
- Address Book
- Outlook Address Book
- Windows Address Book
- Personal Address Book
- Contacts
- Global Address List
I'm so glad I'm not the one who had to write that
dreck, with segment titles like "How the Address Book helps you get it right." ACK.
Yes, I'm bashing Microsoft. *sigh*
